High school students learn about Galen

During the high school course on Galen (2018), the students of the Gemeentelijk Gymnasium Hilversum have been learning about the various aspects of Galen’s work. The students in the Galen course in Hilversum studied and dissected sheep hearts in the light of relevant texts from De Anatomicis Administrationibus and De Usu Partium (translated into Dutch). Moreover, they have presented on specialized subjects of their choice, as can be seen in the pictures. Subjects ranged from blood-letting to the place of the heart in Galen’s medical system.
