Lecture by Prof Vivian Nutton

The first guest lecturer of the Dutch society of Ancient Medicine we welcome is Prof Vivian Nutton, one of the world’s foremost specialists in ancient medicine and the history of the classical tradition within medicine in general. One of his main focuses in his research efforts is Galen and his role in medical history, which has rendered him one of the prime experts in the field. The title of the talk is thus in line with his specialization: ‘From Galen to Galenism and beyond: eighteen hundred years of a medical philosophy’.
